Downloading 128 kbps vs 320 kbps Files
Kbps is a difference in the amount of data or compression used in each file. LoFi (128 kbps) files are smaller and are usually used in
portable MP3 players.
128 kbps files are best served for those with dial-up connections. People with broadband connections can download the hi-fi (320 kbps) version,
which is the highest quality MP3 file available. Typically, the higher the kbps, the better the music sounds. If you are worried that the 128 kbps
LoFi file sounds bad, don't be. If you already have MP3 music, odds are that your files are 128 kbps. Please understand that slow internet
connections can't handle large full-quality files. The 128 kbps files are usually the best format for slow connections. Both formats can be burned
to CDs, and can be transferred between computers and portable devices.
Please know that we have experimented with various formats and bitrates, and these formats provide the most people with the
best quality possible. Bear in mind that most people can't tell the difference between the 128 kbps and 320 kbps files without an expensive,
high quality sound system.
